![]() Faizullah Chisti [left] and Faizullah Baba [right]. These two namesakes and in-laws played the major roles in the exodus and subsequent re-settlement in India. While Baba, alongwith others led the TM in 1959-60 runaway from Chinese hostility; Chisti already in Kalimpong [India] and in touch with the Indian Government helped in the rehabilitation Program. circa 1955. Chisti left Lhasa sometime in late fifties and settled in Kalimpong. During
1959-60 exodus, he was of immense help in the safe passage and subsequent
rehabilitation.

These women or their women ancestry were Tibetans Buddhists and converted to Islam after marrying the Kashmiri merchants. Thus, they were the facilitators of Tibetan culture in every TM home.
