Dharamshala, 18 December, TibetNet:
Hundreds of Tibetans carrying Khatas (ceremonial scarves) and incense,
lined along the way to the main temple, bedecked with colourful bunting,
as His Holiness the Dalai Lama returned here this morning, after
concluding a 10-day visit to Italy.
The highlight of the visit was the annual peace summit in Rome, where
His Holiness met Nobel Peace laureates, including Mikhail Gorbachev, Lech
Walesa and Mairead Corrigan to examine ways to create a world without
poverty and violence.
Beginning 22 December, His Holiness will give a 5-day teaching on Guru
Puja (Lama Choepa) and followed by Jigje Initiation, here at the
Tsuglagkhang, main temple.
On 27 December, Gandan Thekchenling Monastery of Ulan Bator, Mongolia,
will offer a long life prayer for His Holiness.
